About the Position:

The QA Engineer will be a key member of the product development team. This position requires strong deductive reasoning, extreme attention to detail, persistence, patience, and creativity.  The person will work closely with other QA engineers, software developers, product managers, program managers, and marketing to analyze, develop, maintain, and execute quality assurance testing procedures.  This person will have demonstrable experience but not limited to the following:

  • 5+ years of software quality assurance/web application testing experience
  • Ability to develop and document test plans and create/update test cases based on software requirements and functional/technical specifications
  • Understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, processes and testing metrics
  • Understanding of different software development life cycles (i.e. agile, waterfall, iterative, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn automated testing tools (i.e. Selenium or FitNesse)
  • Experience using issue tracking software (i.e. JIRA, BugZilla, or TestTrack Pro)

Other responsibilities/skills include:

  • Serve as a project application tester for projects to design and implement innovative solutions to complex testing
  • Support the testing needs of various software applications, web services, data files, system integration and sync processing
  • Ability to test multiple projects during a release time frame
  • Design test cases that will demonstrate conformance to all functional requirements as defined in technical specs
  • Test applications, develop manual/automation scripts for functional and synchronization process validation
  • Understanding of how to create/update QA test plans and test cases based on requirements and/or functional specifications
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment to obtain requirements, specs and pertinent data to accurately test supported applications
  • Understand application business rules, configuration management and deployment processes, testing infrastructure, and backend components required to support the application
  • Ensure issues/defects are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner during a testing cycle
  • Consistently follow standard testing processes and methodologies
  • Support weekend maintenance or patch releases
  • Strong desire to work for a small company and directly impact growth through dedication and productivity
  • Ability to work with clients, both technical and non-technical
  • Understanding of healthcare (a plus, but not required)

Familiarity/comfort configuring/maintaining the following:

  • Basic HTML
  • Basic JavaScript
  • Personal skills to facilitate client support
