Engage technology platform to address blood donor challenges
July 14, 2016 (Denver, CO) – HealthAware, a behavioral change company headquartered in Denver, CO, announced today that its Kare-N® program is being used by Carter BloodCare centers throughout Texas to help solve issues that threaten the adequacy of blood supplies across the nation. With an aging donor population and increasing challenges to recruitment, overall blood donations are decreasing.
The partnership tackles three areas that impact blood donation: how often a donor donates, cancellation rates among scheduled donors and increasing donor referrals. For Carter BloodCare, the HealthAware Kare-N® program will be used to help engage donors, encouraging them to donate more frequently while also encouraging others to donate.
“Carter BloodCare is committed to enhancing the ongoing relationships we have with our donors,” said Michelle Johnson, Vice President Corporate and Community Resources at Carter BloodCare. “Through the adoption of the HealthAware Engage platform, we hope to better serve our donors by acting as a resource, facilitator and guide throughout the blood donation process.”
“We are excited to partner with Carter BloodCare and help solve challenges in the blood donor industry,” said Greg Gossett, CEO & founder of HealthAware. “We truly believe that the HealthAware Engage platform will positively impact the donor experience for Carter BloodCare’s patrons, and ultimately lead to an increase in the number of repeat visits and referrals made by those donors.”
